Save the Date for the Spring Conference
The Spring Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 21st in Novi.  Save the date and stay tuned for further announcements - the agenda with the main speakers and workshops will be sent out soon! 

Educational webinars
We continue to work in partnership with the Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society to present monthly webinars to our respective membership.  In March, "Making Social Media (Really) Work" was presented.  A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is available in your dashboard area in the Documents section once you log into the www.mshpm.org website.

The next webinar will be presented on Thursday, April 29th: "Marketing Your Physician - Start off on the Right Foot".  Registration is now open on the MSHPM website once you log in.  Also note other upcoming MSHPM, MHA events, conferences and external webcasts listed in the Upcoming Events section. 

Membership Survey is coming soon 
Be on the lookout for the MSHPM membership survey going via survey monkey in April.  This survey will help us obtain your valuable feedback so we can continue to respond to your needs and set the direction for MSHPM.

MSHPM Bylaws volunteers needed
According to the bylaws, a task force needs to convene every three years to review the bylaws.  Thank you to those of you who have volunteered; we are looking for a few more members to participate. Please respond to this email if you are able to volunteer.  The responsibility of the bylaws task force members will be to review the current bylaws together with select executive team members and propose new language to the bylaws.  The task force will convene in April or May. Time frame to completing the task will be to have the document ready for membership review and ratification no later than August 2010.

MSHPM Welcomes a New Member at Large

From Frank Veltri, President of MSHPM:

  

I wanted to inform you that we have had one of your newly elected members-at-large, Kimberly Shirkey, resign.   According to the bylaws, the MSHPM Executive Committee then had to appoint a replacement. I am pleased to announce that Anu Reddy is your new member-at-large effective immediately.   

Ms. Reddy has been an active member of MSPHM since 2008.  She is currently a Senior Market Analyst with Henry Ford Health System. As Senior Market Analyst her major responsibilities include researching trends in healthcare and patient patterns and preferences. She is responsible for developing, implementing and analyzing marketing and business plans within Primary Care and to monitor the effectiveness of these tactics through various means. She also coordinates the production of marketing and educational materials for product lines. Prior to working for Henry Ford Health System, Anu worked with in France with a non-profit arts association, directing the business development and marketing of the organization.

 

Anu has been with Henry Ford for almost three years and holds two Bachelor degrees from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in Economics and History of Art. Anu is currently living in West Bloomfield, MI.

 

As MSHPMs newest member-at-large, Anu will be responsible for our web content and social media. You can contact Ms. Reddy at reddya.mshpm@me.com.   I am very grateful that so many of our members step up, as Anu did, when there is a need. Please join me in welcoming Anu Reddy as your new representative to the MSHPM Executive Committee

Time to Renew your Membership! 
With the New Year approaching, it's time to renew your 2010 MSHPM membership!  Membership provides healthcare public relations/communication, marketing and planning professionals with the education, resources and networking opportunities you need to add value to your position, such as:

 

-  Education for increased ability and credibility

Resources to add value to your professional development

Networking opportunities to gain industry knowledge

 

As in the past, membership dues remain at $45 annually.  To renew your membership, please go to the MSHPM Website (http://www.mshpm.org/) and login to your account.  Once you're on your dashboard page, you will see a link to renew.  I have also attached instructions below.  Please submit the renewal form and payment by January 22nd.  Once we receive your renewal form and payment, you will receive complete membership benefits, including access to the "Members Only" section of the MSHPM Website.
