Dear MSHPM Membership,
It doesn’t need to be repeated that 2020 was a year of great change for those of us who work in healthcare. As healthcare (or healthcare related) marketing, communications and planning professionals, we have experienced a professional challenge unlike any other. As 2020 was also my final year serving as MSHPM’s President, I so missed gathering with you all.
As the end of any year brings a time of reflection, I’d like to take a moment and look back at my tenure as your President. During the past four years, we have achieved a great deal and advanced our organization. We created a purposeful strategic planning process and wrote our first workplans for annual efforts. We increased our membership to over 100, making us the largest SHSMD affiliate group. We attracted new sponsors. We redesigned our website – twice! We engaged our first official team member, Michelle O’Donnell, who has been an invaluable help in keeping busy board members on track. We launched mentorship and speakers’ bureau programs. And we onboarded a new generation of board and committee members to take us to the next level.
Thank you to our amazing board of directors. I have so enjoyed working with you all to grow our organization. I look forward to passing the baton to Jennifer Dale beginning in 2021, and to stepping back into the role of President Emeritus. Having served in every role on the executive committee and also leading programs for a couple of years as well, it is time.
Best wishes for an enjoyable holiday season, and here’s looking to a healthy, happy 2021 for all.
Best,
Megan Yore
